The model 801 is Bell Systems’ original door entry telephone. It has been re-styled a number of times over the years but still maintains its classic design. The 801 telephone continues to be the most popular in the UK market owing to its exceptional reliability and economical price. 

The model 801 telephone operates from both 12V AC or 12V DC and is included in the Bell System standard model 900 as well as other Bell door entry systems. 

The model 801 telephone is manufactured from white high-impact ABS plastic for high durability and complements most wall furnishings. It also has a wide design that makes the telephone suitable for all users. The telephone incorporates a ‘lock release’ push-button discreetly positioned on the base, and under the handset, to prevent inadvertent use. Also, the Electronic Ringing Tone has a useful safety feature whereby the tone is reduced when the handset is ‘off the hook’. The telephone has two levels for the ringing tone which are a HI or LO position that can be set within the telephone on installation or at future date.
